Travel Operators Association of Kerala was formed in 2004  and registered under the Travancore - Cochin Literary, Scientific and Charitable Societies Regiestration Act, 1955.

 

Formation of the association was under the initiative of Mr. Raju P Nair with the support of Mr. P S Sukumaran, Mr. K.G. Mohandas and Mr. P D Joseph, whom were made the Hon. Members of the Association during the formation.  Mr. P J Johny was elected as the first President and C P Ajith Kumar, Vice President.  Raju P Nair was the Founder Secretary.

 

The Founder Vice President was elected as the President in the next year and he is leading the Association till now.

 

TOAK has conducted so many activities for the benefit of the members joining hands with leading vehicle dealers in Kerala.

Repeated calls for Bandhs in the name of Harthals by political parties were indeed posing aa menace not only to the general public, bu to the tourists who had often to cut their legs according to the size of he shoes.  A campaign of SAY NO TO HARTHAL was organized by TOAK which was greatly appreciated and made use of the suffering citizens.  A very irrational tax hike was proposed by the Government against which strong agitations were organized.  The revisions ere utlimately withdrawn and figures were brought down by the Government to reasonalble levels.  Since family of the operators form an integral part of the service oriented industry, meetings wee organized inviting the families to join the crowd.  Children who cane out with flying colours in their exams wre duly recognized by the association during such congregations.  There are still more matters to be looked into and the present committee would request all members to forward their openions and suggestions in the matter.
